Mars would not be successful without the intervention of its current HR practices. Mars’ HR department has played a critical role in the success of the company through its effect on harnessing employee potential. Operating in the US, for instance, posed competition challenges to Mars, but it is only through the intervention of HRM that the competitiveness, effectiveness, and survival of the company was guaranteed. The company’s HR department played a key role in the achievement of success as a result of shaping the company’s competitive edge. HRM practices in the company are the key aspects that impacted on the company’s ability to gain and maintain a significant market share in the competitive industry (Noe, 2008).
