BSG Summary

The presentation is no more than 20 slide, maximum, presentation on the simulation that your team has engaged in and the team’s results. This number of slides would be appropriate for a 10 – 15 minute presentation. The intention is to have your final presentation be representative of that which you would make in a real business situation as you report on your company’s performance. The presentation should focus on the following elements based on your strategy after the Year 11 practice round and how your strategy evolved in the competitive environment in which you found your company.

Summarize your performance objectives relative to what you were trying to accomplish: (3 slides maximum)
i. Markets to be addressed (wholesale, branded, Internet)

ii. Operations (locations, cost, upgrades, training, Six Sigma, etc.)

iii. Pricing strategy and model offerings

iv. Quality (S/Q) Targets

v. Marketing (Retail Outlets, Support, Celebrity Endorsements)

vi. Citizenship actions

Analyze your company’s performance relative to the competitive teams and provide a rationale for your outcomes versus the competition: (7 slides maximum)
i. How did your strategy change over time as you saw competitor’s actions?

ii. Against your original strategy or modifications you made, how well did you do?

iii. What would you do differently from a strategy standpoint?

What were the lessons learned: (8 slides maximum)
i. What strategy models are relevant to your performance?

ii. How did you change your strategy over time and why?

iii. What are the major financial lessons learned

What would be your strategic plan be if you were starting anew: (2 slides maximum)
i. What would you change (e.g. strategy map position)

ii. How would you compete more effectively (e.g. supply chain)

When generating your charts, use as few words as possible to get your message across. If you need to expand on points, use the notes pages (in PowerPoint) within a presentation to amplify the comments that you wish to make. Here are some additional suggestions.
