The Ministry of Education presented The Direct School Admission (DSA) in 2004. The program seeks to provide students with the opportunity that allows them to demonstrate their talents and diverse range of achievements when seeking admission in their preferred secondary schools. The Ministry of Education (2017) stated that the program aims to promote holistic education system in the country. When choosing a junior college based on the DSA scheme, the student has to follow five simple steps. First, the student is expected to know their strengths, talents, and interests and discuss the same with their parents. The parents will then evaluate if joining college via the DSA program is appropriate for the child. The child will then make a list of the colleges that match their strengths and talents. Next, the student will receive an acceptance letter. The letter will indicate the time and date of the tests. If the student passes the DSA tests, then he or she will be admitted to the school (The Asianparent, 2017).

Therefore, it means that majority of those who get accepted to colleges based on this program will not have met the basic requirement, pursuing a talent or interest. Rather, they will join the schools because they have passed the tests (Mokhtar, 2017). Secondly, regarding social problems, SPH Websites (2017) states that the program is likely to give rise to bullying in most schools. The DSA program…
