The ability of an organization to perform and remain competitive in any business environment depends on several internal and external factors. The Hotel and Hospitality industry is one of the most invested industry. Changes in customer demands and growing complexity of the nature of the business are impacting the profit-making quests. An organization is tied to its stakeholders. Primary stakeholders who are directly interested in the affairs of the firm include employee, shareholder and governments. Secondary stakeholders are not directly concerned with the performance of the organization. The manner in which a business develops and maintains stakeholders determines the level of support that it will be accorded. On the contrary, failure to adhere to the role of each group of interested parties may bear far-reaching effects on the short term and long term objectives of an entity.
Organizational culture values, and Corporate Social Responsibility are some of the business aspects that affect the organization-stakeholder relationship. Organizational Culture is a dynamic phenomenon that affects almost every aspect of an organization. Employees are highly susceptible to organizational culture, especially when the organization consist of employees from different cultures (Rojanasak 2013). As stipulated in this discussion, there is great urgency for management to work towards improving the cultural environment within a business. Organizational culture is defined as a set of rules and standards that impact the behavior and conduct of individuals within the organization (Buhmann 2006, p. 12). Corporate values are definitions of what is perceived to be wrong or right in the course of operating within a given business environment. In the context of seeking profits, entities are tasked with non-profit making activities. For instance, the responsibility to conserve the natural environment in which a business is operating within may not directly increase profit making. In each of the three aspects denoted in this introduction, leadership assumes an integral position. Using the provided case scenario for Hyatt Hotel, this discussion provides arguments for the development of organizational culture, values and Corporate Social Responsibility.
