Executive Summary

Company ABC is an oil business located in Dysart, Pennsylvania and provides quality petroleum products. To meet their customer needs, the company has created a friendly and professional work environment that improves the relationship between workers and customers. It has also developed an organisational culture to help focus its workers towards achieving the set goals. However, the two main factors that affect the corporate culture in the organisation are work groups and teams and power and politics. Company ABC majorly operates utilising the market and hierarchy cultures and they apply them to enhance their flexibility. Furthermore, the company has developed a set of principles to control its organizational operations. The impact can be classified as positive power and negative power. Similarly, the impact of politics can be categorized as positive and negative workplace politics. In addition to that, groups and teams play an important role in the operation of the business. That is, groups and teams create a mutual responsibility to all workers and expose them to different skills and abilities that promote teamwork. Therefore, the main impacts of groups and team to the company are creation of labour source and improved efficiency.

The company aims to meet their customer needs by creating a friendly and professional work environment that improves the relationship between workers and customers. It has developed an organisational culture to help focus its workers towards achieving the set goals. However, the two main factors that affect the corporate culture in the organisation are work groups and teams and power and politics. The company operates under different departments. Each division is regulated by the departmental manager, who oversees all the process and operations within their respective units. Employees are categorized according to their specialities within the organisation. Use of groups and teams is a technique that company ABC uses to allocate roles to the workers by taking into consideration their skills and experience in different fields. The company thus uses division of labour and specialisation in this respect to improve work efficiency. Additionally, it promotes workers’ skills by allowing them to do the same task over and over again. In the same way, the company culture is also affected by power and politics. Being a national company, firm ABC faces direct influence from the political organisations and individuals both directly and indirectly….
