Change is an important aspect of any organization. The world is constantly evolving, and the organizations in it always face the challenge of adjusting to new systems, markets, and new customer preferences.  According to McShane and Von (2010), planned change refers to the pre-determined and initiated-in-advance change, while forces of change are natural forces in the organization to embrace changes such as low performance and internal crisis. Therefore, change can be planned or unplanned. Firms must engage those who are opposed to change. In doing so, they can actively perceive what their concerns are and possibly alleviate the issues timely. Through giving the staff time to provide their input, this assures them that they are team players (Pieterse, Caniëls & Homan, 2012). Additionally, organizations must first prepare for change, take action, and plan to manage, and then make sure that all is working as planned. This way, employers must communicate the change and explicitly tell the staff what is happening. Therefore, using a blend of informal and formal communication permits one to ensure that all staff receives news concerning the change in one way or another. Pieterse, Caniëls and Homan (2012) state that with every communication outlets like company intranet, face-to-face meetings, and emails, the message will get across the firm.
