To What Extent Is Psychological Contract Fulfillment Related to Knowledge Employee Engagement in IT Industry

The intent of the research is to determine to what extent physiological contracts influence knowledge employees in the IT Industry. The sheer number of people in the industry guarantees the use of qualitative approach that will facilitate gathering data from various realms of workers and organizations. The qualitative approach will facilitate identification of key themes and patterns emerging in the data (Saunders, Lewis, and Thornhill, 2012, 8). Subsequently, the data will be analyzed to offer a theoretical conclusion of the extent in which the psychological contract fulfillment relates to knowledge employee engagement.

Secondary data from sources such as the UK Data Service will be used to answer the research questions. The IT industry was selected for this research. The increased use of IT services across different industries has increased the workforce and companies working in the IT sector. Resultantly, it has become a substantial portion of the global and UK’s economy. The use of online data basis will provide a significant amount of data from different parts and organizations increasing the credibility and reliability of the research (Maziriri and Madinga, 2016, 5). The data used will focus on the last five years and will include items relevant to the research questions. The data will include employee engagement measures, psychological contract measures, expectations and perceived obligations of the knowledge employees, and the characteristics of knowledge employees in the IT industry.

The data will be collected using interviews and from the secondary sources. Due to ethical considerations, and need to maintain the confidentiality of the individuals involved in the studies, the identity of participants if available will remain anonymous. Additionally, the identity of organizations involved will not be shared (Halawi, 2013, 107). The approach is due to the fact that these persons and organizations are not available to engage in the signing of consent or giving the go ahead to use the data in the research.

The research will also include textual analysis that will focus on reviewing literature related to the topic understudy. The information gathered in the review will be correlated with the data gathered from the interviews. The study will incorporate both empirical and qualitative research work conducted in the past decade. The papers will be sourced from different databases, including the school library, Google scholar, ProQuest, Ebscohost, and others. There will be a key focus on studies that involve a high number of participants who are analyzed and compared to understand their behaviors and attitudes towards the use of psychological contracts and how they influence their engagement as knowledge workers in the IT industry. The reviewed articles will be peer reviewed to guarantee their credibility and reliability to offer accurate information.
